Second Lieutenant Soph has lived his entire life in Galanian, with no memory of when he began his existence and no idea of ​​how he developed his teleportation powers.

But after she's sent on a reconnaissance mission, everything she knows about herself is about to change.

Sophstar is a vertical arcade shoot'em up with strong inspiration from the best genre games of the 90s, while adding exciting new features for arcade fans.



Aside from various visual filters (everything from basic scanlines to a ZX Spectrum color palette), a wide range of difficulty settings, the main choice you have to worry about is which of the nine playable characters to choose.

Each pilot has their own unique ship with different levels of spread or focus of their primary weapon, as well as different secondary weapons and teleportation mechanics.

The variety is welcome and while certain ships seem to be easier to use, it's fun to try them all out.



The main game itself is set over eight reasonably short levels.

In Sophstar, the best way to get a high score is to destroy enemies up close to pick up the chips they drop.

These drop in value quickly, so you want to really be in front if you want the most points.
